Toyota Corolla 04 - mileage

Hi Im thinkin of buying a corolla terra with 160k miles on it. I know Corollas are reliable but could you get another 100k out of them ? Also, do they have a timing belt or are they run by a chain. Thanks

They're timing chain.

I know it's a Toyota, but could you not get one with less miles?

My 01 vvti Corolla has a chain so I'd reckon that they're the same

well a friend has offered it to me so unsure whether to take it. its only 2400 so at that money if i got another 80/90k out of it hassle free id be happy

Why not just buy an 02 with half the mileage?

Yea, Ive found 02 corollas with less mileage going for same price so will try to bargain him down. seems a bit pricey.....
