need help connecting my Nintendo Wii to the internet

    hi there,ive been trying for a while to connect my Nintendo Wii to the internet but it just wont happen.

    ive entered that im using a wireless connection and ive entered my SSID

    this is what then appears on screen

    Error Code :51030
    Unable to find access point
    Please confirm the SSID and try again.
    Visit support.nintendo.com for assistance

    can someone please help me out?

    Ok, are you entering the name of your wireless router / access point manually?
    If so, let the wii search for it instead. If it doesn't find it, could be that it's too far away or there's interference - I used to have to open the door to my front room to get my Wii to see the wireless network.

    before you go any further, what kind of wireless network connection have you got?
    Is it turned on? No really, check. Better to tick this off now than in a few hours time when nothing else works!
    What kind of security does it use?
    What's the SSID (ie the name) of your wireless network?
    For testing purposes, if you disable the security (WEP, WPA etc) does the Wii pick it up?
    Does the Wii pick up anyone elses SSIDs? Your neighbours probably have wireless internet too...
    Also, what other devices do you have that *can* use the wireless connection? Are they currently connected?
