There's a supermarket nearby me where a family of travellers pulled in all in their caravans into the parking lot and wouldn't leave.

They asked for €1,000 each to leave and the supermarket paid as it was cheaper in the long run.

Christ, they are obsessed - I bet you that that supermarket had a very large supply of Dale Farm.

A few years back several caravans moved into a local tennis court car park, one of its members was a property developer, that night a large teleporter arrived with a gang of lads, they were gone within the hour.

    Those comments
Send them back to Ireland they scream

Are all travellers in the world Irish?

The site is decades old, many were born there and I'd say many have never set foot in Ireland.

How do you become English so? Do you need ten generations living in England before you can call yourself English?

Why do Daily Mail reader manage to blame other countries for their citizens :(

It wouldn't look so bad if they went high rise, placing caravans on top of each other.

they tried that in carlow on a hotel building site a number of years ago but the developer drove in 3 tractors with full tanks of slurry and began filling up the caravans.... they promptly left after that...smelling no worse than they normally would. :D

I remember telling an American colleague a few years ago about travellers occupying other people's property. He just couldn't get his head around why people tolerate it as in the US, a landowner would defend property with a gun and nobody would see a problem with that.

to the guy the ninja edited his post
you realise that i am from a travelling heritage

well tell your family to stop camping illegally on other people's property then

Just because they're Travellers doesn't mean they're above the law.
They were givin a chance to get alternative accommodation for them and they balls that up. Again.

    Turf them out.

If only people were as obsessed with the the rules, morals, money and costs to society when it came to the property/banking complex but no, Travellers, let's focus on them.

An American couple I met touring Ireland in a camper mistakenly pulled into what they thought was a trailer park. They got a big shock when they woke up the following morning. :p

Travellers get more benefits than most and councils bend over backwards to help them out. Its about time they appreciated the help they get. Most of the rest of us have to make it on our own.

It actually turned out that many of them own houses in Limerick. The council in the UK are bringing court proceedings over here to seize their houses to pay for the eviction.

How come it was cheaper? How much does it cost to rent a big bulldozer for an hour? Surely that is all that would be needed.:):):);)

So if they win the case and can't sell the houses will have English council houses in Ireland.

They won't win any case. How do you sue itinerants with little to no photo ID available when they all have the same name?

DVLA would have enough information on them giving the fact that most or all of them drive, alsoin the UK if you are convicted of any crime you get DNA, fingerprints etc recorded.
