Well, I think this exposes current news journalism for the con-job that it is. Absolutely sickening to put in fake/unrelated material into a report on such a story.

The worrying thing is, how much else that is shown as "news" is actually fake?

Didn't ITV do a show last year on the IRA that included footage of them in a battle that was later proved to be from a playstation game instead!

The only reliable reports are those Taiwanese 3D reconstructions

Yes. Below is the Youtube clip of the El Mundo "news" report:

It seems that not only was the Dundrum Shopping Centre footage inserted, but the clip following it is from a different cruise incident as well (Carnival Paradise).

I reckon the lads who designed Dundrum Shopping Center would be delighted to know it has a passable "cruise ship chic" about it.

Shocking the things that people will lie about all right and makes you think twice before you take things at face value.

You'd think the two lads would have just said that they were in Costa Concordia in the first place like, twits

There are far more egregious trespasses by the media that will never go checked.

It's safe to say we live in the shadow of a lying media monster.

When I used to work in the media sometimes I'd throw out actual footage of an event and replace it with footage from something else just to piss off the viewers.
