    Obnoxious and ostentatious and how would one use them differently or choose between them. They seem generally to be the almost the same to me when I use online dictionaries.

    'Obnoxious' describes forms of behaviour which are offensive to other people.
    'Ostentatious' describes an excessive display of wealth or riches.

    That's how I would use the words, anyway.

    The OED gives:
    Obnoxious.1. Exposed to harm; subject or liable to injury or evil of any kind.....
    Ostentatious. 1........unduly conspicuous; boastful; pretentious.
