I've just got a replacement battery for my Macbook - can anyone give me advice on good battery management for the new one to maximise its life?

Don't keep your laptop plugged in all the time, don't fully discharge the battery too often, use the machine on battery power regularly.

This is it's first time taking a charge today - do I need to fully discharge it after this or just work it as normal from now?

For removable batteries, they say you should fully discharge it to calibrate it.

    Here's Apple's docs on batteries.
