    Hello
I am getting married in Kilkenny where I am from and the OH is from Laois
Our families would be very familiar with the area as they are from the nearby counties and areas.
I am wondering what would you need to include with the invites
    I have been thinking of
    Church location
    Hotel location
    Route from church to hotel
Names of other places to stay apart from hotel
    ATM locations
(No need for babysitter details as we only have limited kids coming to the wedding who are immediate family)
    Thanks

    That sounds complete!

ATM locations, I hadn't even thought of that.

Stick in Sat-Nav info for church and hotel for any guests you know is into Gizmo's & travelling far , as there's also one that gets lost or attends wrong service before copping on its wrong wedding...

Ps.. best of luck, Got wed in Sept '11 - Happy days ahead

What I'm doing is creating a website for the wedding. Invites will have location and time, that's it. RSVP via the website, which contains everything!

i've never heard of creating a website as an invitation.....what a class idea!!! do you have a backround in this area, or is it something an ordinary joe soap (with limited IT experience) could master?

Why would you need ATM locations?

because people need money for the night's drinking and often need an ATM. Giving the locations prevents a 100 or so people driving around a town they don't know looking for one.

How about the local taxi number for those who aren't staying in the hotel?
Also I am not so sure that ATM locations would be a great idea it kinda screams cash only gifts please:eek:

I did web design a long time ago, but using basic HTML for this. Keep it simple and straightforward!

whilst all of this is a very nice sentiment, I think its a little overkill. I know the trend in recent years has been to provide info on accommodation, but unless you are getting married abroad I personally don't think its necessary. To give so much information smacks to me of a bit patrionising - but that is my personal opinion and I know others will totally disagree (Little Ted awaits backlash, runs and hides :p). Its just that, for me, I am a grown adult, I can arrange my own hotel, I can sort out my travel arrangements, if I am stuck I can check out google easy enough or at a push I'll simply just ask. Ok, a list of decent hotels is a help, but beyond that I don't feel maps and all of that are needed unless the venue is totally out of the way. I certaintly don't need to be told where to find ATM's or numbers of taxi companies - I just think its overkill. Also I don't expect the couple to go to any extra expense to print off all this for me. It also often makes an invitation seem like an induction manual when it arrives and can be a bit overwhelming and a little bit 'control freakish'. I know for people it also seems a bit like the couple are saying 'well you've no excuse to say no to the invitation now! we've thought of everything'. I know thats not the intention, but providing so much detailed info does seem to assume that the person will attend.

Just tell me where and when and I'm happy. All the rest, thanks, but not necessary. As a compromise the website idea is great, and its a simple line added to the invites 'for info visit...' perfect.
