Semester 2. New media and cultural studies.

    I just want to know, will it be as sociologically Morrissey fueled as last semester?

    I found semester 1 painful and really hated it, the fact I did well was a miracle considering I went to 2 lectures and played minecraft till 3am before the exam.

    Cultural Studies and Sociology are run by different departments :p

    But you're probably doing sociology of media audiences which is all about doing research in the field (I found anyway) and The Language and culture module which is interesting enough.

    If its the writing aspect of things that's causing you difficulty in your sociology/cultural studies course, we've just finalised our peer-tutoring schedule for the coming semester at www.ul.ie/rwc.

    We have a number of peer-tutors (most, if not all, of them postgrads) who offer one-to-one tuition to help you improve your writing skills.

    Two specialise in sociology, and one specialises in cultural studies. The service is free, and you can see when discipline specific tutors' appointments are by registering at the above address and viewing the schedule. We just ask that you don't book more than one hour per week.

    It most certainly is! To book an appointment visit www.ul.ie/rwc and register as a new user. Once you've done that, you can log in and see our schedule (free appointment slots are white, ones booked already by other students are blue). We just ask that you book no more than one hour a week, and don't block book for weeks in advance. This allows more students to use the service. Any questions, just email writingcentre@ul.ie
