    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this. I left my last relationship after violence(police were called) and I couldnt take all of my stuff, and I want the rest, but he is refusing to give it to me. He will give some to a friend, but there is more in the house. Question is, if I called the guards about it, would they come with me to the house to make sure I have it all, or its just not their area? I just want my stuff, and a clean break for now while I get my head together.

    Thanks

The Gardai wouldn't entertain such a request. Have you a solicitor? Maybe get legal advice on it? Why not send a solicitor's letter including an inventory of all outstanding items and arrange a third party to pick everything up on a specific date? Maybe with a gentle reminder that if anything is missing/damaged then he is liable for larceny/criminal damage?

You did well to take that step and get out of the relationship, but your ex is still holding you back by keeping some of your stuff. Is it absolutely necessary to have the stuff, or could you live without it? Because it looks like your ex is not giving you up without a fight.
