Hi guys, i recieved the mature student grant last year, around the 3500e amount. After the changes in the distance thats been cut to 1250e this year. Im really struggling with rent and all since the drop. Would it be possible for me to apply for the BTEA next year even though I'll be going into 3rd year or or is this only available to ppl joining 1st year? Or are any other options available to me? I got work for christmas but haven't been able to get anything since :-(

no; it's only available to people who are on the dole going into first year of a course

Your college should have a student assistance fund - apply for that

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
