House sale implications?

I unfortunately lost my job about 7 months ago and I am on job seekers allowance at the moment. I have been looking for work ever since with not much luck.

I sold my house just before christmas and I am wondering will the proceeds of the sale affect my job seekers allowance payment?

I am currently staying with family at the moment and the house I sold was my private residence.

If have more then 104 (2 years) and the required number of these were paid in 2009 as you started to claim last year then you should be on the non means tested Jobseekers Benefit. If you don't have the necessary stamps then Jobseekers allowance is means tested and any capital you have including procedes from the sale of your house will be taken into consideration.
