Sealed System - Where to locate pump

Hi, just a quick question re sealed central heating system (oil). A plumber mate of mine used always say in gravity fed (vented) systems it was better to put the pump on the return near the bottom of the boiler.

What is the case with a sealed system, most diagrams show it on the flow with the pressure vessel between it and the boiler. Is this the best way or does it matter? Also i've seen some pressure vessels with a filling loop attached and a pressure gauge in kit form, again does it matter where the system is filled and topped up, i.e bottom of boiler on return, or below pressure vessel as supplied in kit?

    Thanks in advance.
