Laptop or Netbook

So my laptop of 3 years finally kicked the bucket yesterday and now I'm in the market for a new one. My budget is fairly tight (max 300e) as I am saving for a move to Canada in May.

Considering buying a netbook as they seem pretty cool and are quite cheap. I mainly used my old laptop for web browsing, downloading and college projects. Just looking for opinions from netbook users whether or not they are worth the money or am I just better off buying a low end laptop.

I'd be worried that the netbook would be too small. If you're typing away on it for any amount of time it could get on your nerves tbh. And 10" screen is a bit on the small side. I'd be looking at slightly bigger tbh, even 11.6".
