I Think I might have the Problem,

The New HDD is an ADVANCED FORMAT drive:o

can i still use this drive?
    if yes how?

    Thank You.

Shouldn't be a problem - download latest drivers for the chipset and storage devices. Make and model of drive?

Edit: I'm thinking that if it's a dell installation CD it might not have up-to-date drivers for the 4K storage devices. Would reformat (as NTFS) first if you have not done so before.

Reformat it when you select what drive to install it on.

My guess would be dell's website as there you could fill in the model of your machine etc.

Make sure to format to ntfs, if that doesnt work try and install another os to determine if its an os issue.
