This is on their "7MB" package that isn't even 5.

I don't download anything because it's not fast enough anyway. I just started using Netflix this past week with my brother, so maybe that's it? It's ridiculous.

I'd ditch them, but in Drogheda there's only them and Eircom (who are probably worse) and BT

First off it's Imagine, WiMax is a technology, many other providers use it and were using it long before Imagine started.

Second, You signed up to a package that has a fair usage policy, did you read the small print before you signed up?

Netflix eats download limits for breakfast :p

No, I didn't. The problem is whilst they say they're unlimited, they're really not. However, they don't say what that limit is until you get a warning. Even if you ask them they don't specify, whether it's 50/100/200 gigs.

And I didn't realise Netflix did :D Was trying not to watch everything in HD too!

You'll find it's most likely worded as unlimited access. They don't specify a limit as it will become a target to some people, but you'll find their terms and conditions reserve the right to do what they've done. Learn a lesson and read the terms and conditions before you sign next time. There is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth, not from any provider

I don't have Netflix but am thinking about it. Does anyone have any idea of the bandwidth a two hour movie would take. Can find no answer to this question on the Netflix site but maybe that is so that people don't get frightened away!

This is what they say it uses
    Your Account & Help
    Manage video quality
We know that some of you have internet data caps and we want to make it easier for you to manage how much data you use.
We offer 3 video quality settings to help you manage your data usage. No matter what level you choose, your Netflix membership price will remain the same.

Good quality (up to 0.3 GB per hour)
Better quality (up to 0.7 GB per hour)
Best quality (up to 1 GB per hour, or up to 2.3 GB per hour for HD)

So after they throttled my connection again I call them and they tell me that the cap is 30-35 gigs per month. In 2012?! It's a joke.

Not only is that no where in the terms of agreement, they don't even tell you until you until you ask them. Yes, there might not be such a thing as unlimited usage, but at least the other ISP's tell you what the cap is.

I can do 30 gigs in a week

Digiweb Metro isn't WiMax - It's using fairly standard Cable Modem technology DOCSIS over a microwave link.

Not all wireless options use WiMax, there are several technologies in use for the fixed-point stuff with an antenna on your roof and some are significantly better than others. It's well worth shopping around and getting local advice.
