well lads, im looking for a good working dog vet, preferably with experience with setters! im in the cavan area!

the dog has been under the weather lately! i had her to a vet in early December as she would hunt for 2 to 3 hours but all of sudden take into a fit of squatting trying to pass something but nothing would come out! this would happen every 20mins or so! she had a high temp an was tender behind so she put her on meds for a kidney infection! it did clear up for a short time.
the last 2 weeks the same has been happening! she sometimes goes of her feed once a week aswell!
any suggestions? she's not a great drinker either, why would this be?

    Thanks

The best working dog vet that I know of is Ger Clancy in Carrick an Suir, Co. Tipp, I travel from Cork to him and I've heard that greyhound men travel from all over the country to him.

there was a thing is last months shooting times about a disease that affects working dogs, rapid weight loss, off food, temperature etc. cant remember the exact name but i'll fish out the magazine and put it up. if anyone has the magazine its the article near the back with a yellow lab looking pretty miserable.

also forgot to mention don't some dogs suffer from a knotting or turning of the stomach? could this be something not considered by the first vet?

    The mucus would suggest collitis.
