A post in the bangernomics thread got me looking at used cars on Carzone and I came across the Mazda Xedos below with a reported 670,000 miles on the clock which is the most I've ever seen in an online ad. I wonder how it feels after that many miles!

So what's the highest milage you've found yet on the likes of Adverts/Carzone/Dondeal etc.

670000 and no mention of it being a taxi? call me suspicious. Either way my money is on a mistake when entering the mileage.

EDIT, yep theres 2 ads for the same car. Other one has 108,000 and is €1450

Are you questioning the ability of the might Octavia???

If you go on donedeal and advance search, enter mileage as minimum 1000000, you'll find a good few owners who cant count.

Friend of mine had a 2 litre Diesel Almera with over 600k on the clock. It was both a taxi and a driving school car at some point in its life.
    It was also ****ed!:D

    I'm guessing typo.

I know of a few Golf TDIs in the US that have hit the mileage limit on the odometer. Because of the way the odo is programmed on them, they can only record a maximum of 1 048 576 km. They won't roll over either at that point.

I remember reading about that. He was making the point that once you service a car regularly it should just keep going.

    A 1989 Saab 900 SPG with 1,001,385 miles.

In 17 years the car used more than 600 quarts of synthetic Mobil-1 motor oil, which can travel significantly more miles between oil changes than regular oil.
In its time, the car burned two tanker-truck-loads of premium gasoline and averaged about 28 mpg.
It went through about 22 sets of tires, changed every 45,000 miles.
The transmission was replaced at about 200,000 miles, but the engine was largely untouched.
The engine head gasket was replaced three times because constant warming and cooling stretched it.

That's definitely a typo, there's no way a car could have over half a million miles on it and the drivers seat looking that good. Unless they replaced the seats, but who'd do that with a Xedos?

My thoughts exactly the interior is too fresh for that kind of mileage.
