Hello, today I had this idea and I'd like to know if it would work?

So my sister wants an iPhone but is locked in a 60 euro p/m contract with O2 and cant get a different phone. I have an iPhone 4 on a 40 euro p/m contract with three, but recently bought a android tablet and fell in love with the OS.

So if she were to pay me 229 euro, I'd unlock my iPhone, give it to her and do this to her sim http://microsim-shop.com/making-your-own-microsim.html

With the 229 euro I would go into O2 and buy this http://www.o2online.ie/o2/shop/phones/sony-ericsson-xperia-play-r800/130/

And then do *this* to my current micro sim...

Would it work and would we stay on the same contracts with the same benefits etc,?

3 want the contract paid upfront before unlocking an iPhone.

    What do you mean?

Whiterebel is right, No network will unlock the iphone until the end of the contract period or you buy out the contract!

I'd unlock it myself though using ultrasn0w.

Would probably be breaking terms of contract I think.

The iphone is locked to the Three Network, It will only function with a Three Microsim.

If you put your sisters o2 simcard in there, it won't work!
    (open to correction though)

It can be unlocked from the 3 network though.

Save yourself the bother of messing with sim cards by asking three and 02 for the sim cards that ye need, ie you need a normal sim card, say you changed your phone, they will send it out to you, it will be the same number,
Same for your sister, get her to ring her network and ask them to send out a micro sim with her keeping her number, i've done this before for the exact same situation
they can also more than likely do it in a shop( i got it done in a meteor shop)
