Done a service on my 2006 1.4 16v Clio Mk 3 but now I need to turn off the service light. What specific piece of equipment do I need so I can buy it off ebay or something....anyone know?

or suppose no one got the equipment and wanna sort me out for a few quid? ;)

    Cheers

The Internet and your fingers that's all.you should be able to reset it on the clocks and the indicator stalk.try turning on the ignition and holding the bottom at the end of the stalk at the right hand side and watch it count down the service miles

Yea change the oil, filters, plugs and air filter. The gear box oil is next when I get a change. Why am I missing stuff....kinda new to this stuff. Yea I google crap out of it but confused is its an OBD or OBD II ELM 327? cant get anything specific to the car model.

I tried doing the ignotion and holding both button on the stalk for ten seconds, but nothing. I think cause the actual service light is on I need to plug in to the computer on the car and reset it

When servicen a car there is much more to it then just changing the filters.did u check all the brakes, the brake lines all the joints and everything else which should be checked on a car.this is what consttutes a service not just chaging the filters

The manual reset only works if its within 1500kms of the due time.
    • Switch the ignition on,
    • Wait for the service interval to extinguish
    • Press either of the two buttons on the end of the stalk until the remaining distance to the next service is displayed
    • Then hold either button for 10 seconds until the new interval is shown then release the button
    • Switch the ignition off

Thanks Nissan doctor, worked a treat. It says the next service is at 30000 km....is that right or should it be less?

    Cheers

Em nope havnt done any of that but the car was NCT last week...I hung off changing the oil, filter and plugs till after NCT. I presume the NCT mechanic checked the break lines, joints etc. Is there anything else I should look at so I know in the future?

    Cheers swhyte

The NCT check the major safety items. The NCT will not tell you if your brake pads are low or if your pollen filter, brake fluid or coolant needs changing...for example.
