Would you pay the new existence tax?

Apparently our fearless Fine Gael/Labour overlords have decided not to bother with broadcast charge, water tax, property tax and have already decided (but won't come to fruition for another 2 years of them warming us to the idea of this tax) to make every single resident of this country pay an existence tax of 1,024 euros per year.

Starting off at a paltry 128 and slowly doubling its way up possibly as far as 2,048 if things get really bad with charges for people staying less than a year payable when one exits the country. This will apply to tourists as well who must pay 2 euros tax for each day they are here.

Non payment will result in bayliffs removing your earthly belongings and when you have nothing left you will be rounded up into a massive prison complex built by the initial group of rounded up refuseniks.

There will be a site to register for this tax. Its the manly/patriotic/right thing to pay up and sign up early for this.

No but when the bayliffs show up I won't be so brave anymore

Nothing is certain except death and taxes.

So there is only one way to avoid this tax.

If you don't work for your existence (1.80 per hour Lisbon treaty wage inside the new prison) for the minimum required hours per year they will

I'm going to refuse to exist just so I won't give them feckers the satisfaction of gettin' my money, even if it means I can't use it!

I'm fairly sure this is both illegal and immpossible. Let them answer the deep philosophical question: "Prove that I exist." And if "I think, therefore I am" comes into play, I have a feeling a lot of politicians will be exempt :pac:

yeah a round up of those politicians springs to mind and make them listen to daniel o O'Donnell while standing on one leg and force feeding them gruel for weeks on end with no sleep while small children throw crabs and scorpions at their torsos now that should fix it. there's nothing like some common sense to make them see the error of their ways :D

Maybe the government can pre-emptively charge everyone the dog license which will be double what it is now and once you actually acquire a dog you'll have to buy a cert for it that needs to be periodically renewed with associated administration charge that equals what the dog license is now
