    Hey all,

I'm thinking of buying a gaming laptop that would be able to run most current pc games and mmos on at least decent settings.

My budget at the moment is between 700-900 (might be able to go even higher if neccesary)

Alternatively if there's something new coming out soon i would be willing to wait for cheaper/better gaming laptops.

Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance!

Ivy bridge revisions are just around the corner. You're best off waiting until Mid April - May in my opinion. Windows 8 will be releasing around that time too with ultra books, so manufacturers will have that as their default OS when you make a purchase on any top brand of laptop.

At the end of the day it's up to you, it's your money.

Does it have to be a Laptop? Custom built Desktop would be much better and way more powerful, bang for buck wise.

Due to the amount of travel i do and the length of times i'm out of the house it has to be a laptop unfortunately. If i were to get a desktop i would be able to use it for just a few hours each week.

On your budget this Card looks like it'll be the one you'll have to go with. Scroll down for benchmarks. I don't play much myself but above 30fps is considered fine for playing a game according to the reviews.

    PC Specialist prices are insane.

Buy it through Dell unless someone sees a better one.

are good for vouchers, the present ones are outta date tomorrow but they update them quick.

If you click the employee & students link down the bottom left, you can customise a Laptop for €850ish.

Thanks for the responses! If i was going for a dell i suppose it would have to be from the xps range as alienware is too pricey.

Anybody know how the dell xps' are for gaming?

Not great unless you want to go up to a 17'' and even then your talking closer to 1000 euro for a good one.

The Above asus is a great deal IMO. If you go to the clearance section of that website you'll find the same one for 100 pounds cheaper, still in the box (usually these are unopened returns). http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Open_Box_-_ASUS_N55SF-S2342V_1165978.html

Its got one of the best processors going at the moment, the kind you'd find in a 1500+euro laptop.

A very good mid-high range graphics card the GT555m, which will run any game at pretty good settings.

An excellent sound system from Bang and Oulfson.

A very good MATTE screen, hardly any laptops have those these days.

    Massive HDD.

    Blue ray optical drive.

A decent battery life considering the specs.

It really is a good deal if you can get it for 700 pounds, no dell will even come close to that.

    Edit:

Sorry was looking at the wrong laptop and thought it was 100£ more, .

The specs are indeed great for the price, although i personally wouldn't use the blue ray player, it definetaly looks like a great buy.

It does indeed look very nice, however it's £100 more than you stated on open box at 800. Still a great price for the specs though i agree, although i probably wouldn't really need the blue ray player.

No it's defo 700, you click the link?

    EDIT: Ha yeah no prob.
