Algarve in April ?

Hi just wondering if anyone has been to the Algarve in April and if so whats the weather like - is there a chance of sunshine. Know alls in work say I'm mad to consider it then, its too early but online tells me average 20 degrees. Whats your experience been ?

The weather during the day will be 20 plus degrees, it can be a bit cool at night and there will be the odd heavy downpour but overall a good time to go is later April
