Making your car loud is easy and there is now a legal limit.

You will generally get a better response asking tuning related questions here.

Responses on how to make your car louder generally get ignored.

+1, and I know this ain't an English lesson but you don't have to use capital letters at the start of virtually every word. It just makes it harder to read

I don't think you understood what i mean!

The only noise i heard was something like vtec!! NOT a loud exhaust.. Ya Think id come on boards to find out that??

This is a tuning question as im looking for a advice on tuning my engine!!

And i'm not looking for some smart-ass saying ''buy a dohc and dont bother with a 1.4''.. Exactly the reason why id tune the engine in one!!:)

You sure it's not an engine conversion? We recently put a D16 Sohc Vtec into a 1.4, very easy conversion.

Vtec is Vtec, you're not going to get a sound like it without it

Right if you want to stick with the D14 and your looking for that vtec crossover you are going to want to do a vtec head conversion on your D14, with fairly cheap OEM parts fro the D16 you can see noticeable gains, now it will be much better to do a D15/16 OR B series swap but i do like the originality of the D14 vtec would be a fun cheap mod and im sure you will learn a bit from it if you do it yourself.

Heres the guts of what you will need

-D16Y8 head, gives CR of ~9.5, D16Z6/Z9 head will be fine to and give CR ~9.1
-D16Z6 cam, D16Y8 will work fine to
-Megan adjustable cam gear, any brand will do
-OEM part 90741-657-000 or Woodruff key, (needed to mount cam gear)
-OEM part 12251-P2J-004 or headgasket D14A3/4, it is the same famous 3 layer from D16Y8 engines
    -New coolant and oil
If your serious about it get on to Honda-tech for some real advice, but be warned use the search function and dont use slang ;)

Sure it'd work out cheaper to do a full conversion

Depends on if you done all the work yourself ;) , if you done a conversion it would be the same as any other civic out there then :D , when have you ever seen a 1.4 vtec over here? Not many people over here know much about them, they seem to get up around the 130 mark with simple breathing mods, if you done it right im sure you could get the parts fairly cheap seeing as D-series dont really have a following over here.

Dont get me wrong if it was me id go Bseries at a minimum but the lad wants to stick with the D14 so why not make it interesting :pac:
