But i cant find any that are 4 stroke??? I have a quad that is not selling so im trading it in with muckandfun.com.. Cheers

They are 2 stroke only, blaster 200cc single cylinder. banshee are 350cc twin cylinder. 2 strokes are not unreliable, the motors just dont last as long and need rebuilding more often. A rebuild on a 2 stroke is however way cheaper and not that difficult if you are handy. They become more unreliabe the more they are tuned. Aftermarket pipes, reeds and jets are ok but if there has been engine work done it will go like a scalded cat.......for a short time:D
If you look at a 2 stroke that will start (HOT and cold) pulls well and you can feel the powerband kick in is probably ok. There is very little you can check.
Blasters used to be the only bike you could race on in the 12-16yr class so there are loads of them around. And hundreds of mechanics( esp in NI) who know them inside out.

4 strokes have become more popular in the last few years and are fairly bullet proof oncethey have been serviced regularly using the correct oil etc. If you look at a four stoke make sure it will start when its Hot! If it has kick start only (early honda 450's) make sure the compression release works or samson wont start it when its hot. as above if any quad has had serious engine work done it wont last too long.
Get someone else to ride the bike and if you see a puff of smoke when they let off the throttle the rings are knackered walk away (last 4 stroke engine i got rebuilt cost 600 pounds sterling)
Early suzuki 450's are cheap, absolutely lovely bike but the gearboxes are made of butter. Whereas the 400's are bomb proof.

I cant comment on the newer fuel injected stuff as i stay away from it ( i can fix a carb, fuel injection might as well be magic:D) and i dont race anymore so i dont need to be at the forefront.

Sorry for the long winded post, didnt mean to write as much.
    Hope this helps.

blasters are fun to ride being aircooled they will seem noisy tho! kawasaki race quad is a suzuki just a different colour, i agree totally with the above about hot and cold start although a banshee on the pipe is a wonderful experience:D
a top end kit for my 250cc 2stroke, piston, rings, little end and wrist pin is £169 not fitted. for a mates 450 kawasaki crosser 4 stroke he was told £900!!! any tuned banshee i would walk away from if it didnt start hot or cold and sounded rattly. dont forget that the banshee motor is a RD350 motor so there are lots of companies out there doing spares.

blaster is 200cc, single cylinder and air cooled, banshee is twin cylinder and water cooled, what size raptor?
think if your an average sized bloke then you might find the blaster a little lacking, the banshee is just manic!! had a rattle on a 700fi raptor and it was absolutely savage!!

Its a 250cc raptor... I dont want anything mental now just something to mess about on a beach, up and down dunes and that....

My advice would be a suzuki 400. If ur worried about it being too fast, its not. In reality its a 330cc. But they are absolutely bullet proof and cheap.
You will tire of a 250 very quickly (its what my 12yr old son rides) unless u are very light or very young.

Stay away from the 2strokes unless you know enough to change reed valves etc they go great but need alot of minor tinkering. But if you are even a small bit mechanical go for it, they are great fun! Just remember that there is an engine rebuild in your future:p and stay away from anything tuned!!

If you value your ankles/legs do not ride any of them without nerf bars!

Not anymore, that was the case back in the 80's and 90's but now most race quads are 4 strokes.
