    Hi All,

A strange one, any ideas would be appreciated.

Have 3 Sat boxes, 1 Humax and 2 Technomate's. All working fine except one T.Mate.

On it I have all channels except channel 5 has disappeared. Have 5USA and 5* and the +ones, but no 5 on the one box.

Tried a new scan, but no go. At a loss now.

Channel 5 has moved permanently to Astra 1N.

There was a period of dual illumination, but the Astra 2D feed appears to be off since lunch time today. Your TM box was obviously tuned to Astra 2D, and the others to Astra 1N.

Astra 1N also includes 5*, 5 USA, and +1 channels.

    Transponder details here....

    sorted!!!!!

Did another scan and assumed that if it was there it would appear in my favourites, silly me.........that would be too easy.

Looked through my channel list and there were 5 fives, so selected one and replaced it in my favourites and all is well. :)

Thank goodness as it was the wife's tv where it disappeared and I was having palpitations thinking I might have had to watch BB!!!!!!!!!!

    no.

as Karsini said, 10964, H, 22000, 5/6 you will have to go into the add channels.
follow this guide if you dont know how to do it.

I don't have a Sky box- it's el cheapo Lidl Silvercrest SL 65

I'm on channel 405 now and have passed a few Channel 5 all with $signs in front of it...

So I reckon I've lost it for ever and ever? :(

I have the sl65 too. Just use the search for channel function. I found only 2 FIVES so far , both blank. One on 19.2 and one on Helstat.
    What's my next move ?

I can't remember the exact procedure as I haven't used one for 3 years but you have to add 10964 to the transponder list and then scan it again. As it's on Astra 1N, a new satellite, the box doesn't know the new transponders.

    Dear Sir/Madame Karsini,

What a fantastic team we make ---- fecking genius! I'm not sure whose skills I'm more impressed with, yours or mine. But I just set up a new satellite on my TV, I am so proud of myself.

    Thanks a million :)

This is a great site for discovering what is broadcasting from 22.2/5 including 1N.

take heed of the QPSK settings and if a channel is dvb-s or dvb-s2.

Sky box does not cover some but a Humax can be manually tuned if you go into the non freesat settings and do a scan.

done properly it will pull in any channels your dish size can cope with.

some Humax box's only offer preset frequencies, just keep skipping them until the end and you will get the option to enter the correct settings.

on my humax any new channel gets added to the first slot before channel 4.

The frequencies most likely to be used on 1N are the standard Astra band C ones: (recited from memory so hoping they're correct...)

    10964 H, 10979 V, 10994 H, 11009 V, 11023 H, 11038 V, 11053 H, 11068 V, 11082 H, 11097 V, 11112 H, 11127 V, 11141 H, 11156 V, 11171 H, 11186 V

The SR and FEC will depend on whether DVB-S or DVB-S2 is used.

If you have an iPhone or iPad, download an app called FilmOn Plus free and you will get channel 5 there. You can then use Apple Tv box to show program's on tv or watch on iPhone or iPad. This allowed my wife to continue watching celebrity big brother after it disappeared from sky and the Internet.
