Just looking for a bit of advice. I booked my J1 to San Fran yesterday and I've been doing a lot of research on accommodation.

Looking at Craigslist, San Fran is quite expensive, even more so than Dublin city centre. I'm currently paying about €600 for a 3 bed apartment here, would I be able to get something similar for the same price in San Fran?

I've looked at Berkley and it's a lot cheaper. Can anyone comment on places like this: http://www.calsigmanu.com/ and http://berkeleystudentcooperative.org/rates/47-summer-rates ?

    Thanks in advance!

I would stay in that Sigma Nu frat house.

I was in it a few times and it's good fun. A lot of parties.

I lived in a frat house in Berkeley and worked in SF. Bit of a commute, but it was great. Best of both worlds.

As for arranging frats, we just got there early and literally knocked on a door of a frat house with a free room, and moved in for the summer.
