    Hi Guys

Wheelchairtaxi.ie went live literally an hour ago and I'd love to get your feedback on the site. No drivers are listed yet as I don't want to contact anyone until I'm 100% sure everything works well and all will be happy with the site. Would love your opinions??

    Thanks

Looks nice, easy to navigate too. You won't know for certain until you get a few taxis listed, that way you'll know the search works without difficulty.

N.B. On the home page, the 'Advertise with us' button is not linked (not sure if you're aware, thought I'd mention it)

    good concept everything works!

    2 quick points for consideration:
    No Map?
    NYC cab Image?

    good luck with it

thanks guys. as I said it's a work in progress and the advertise with us will be done in the next day or two as a graphic. I initially had reservations about the American taxi but I think it gets the message across and works okay. The main point was navigation and I think it's easy-to-use which was top of my list. Thanks for the feedback

Where is your data protection policy?

    Colours seem good.

    Name is quite long.

Match the twitter name to the site name.

Can't go to Facebook page without logging-in.

Youtube plays immediately when you click on the link.

    Make the grey(?) text black.

    Lose the italics.

Lose the greyscale and use a slightly off white - it makes things difficult to read.

Are you specifically endorsing wheelchair-securing straps?

There is no apostrophe is "taxis".

    Regularise the capitalisation in:
    Wheelchair taxis
    Car Hire
    Minibus rental/Coach Hire
    and even Accessible Boats!

    And
    forgot password

    "Login" should be hyphenated.

    Your images need alternative text.

    "Other Accessible tranport" - spelling.

"Email :*" - what does the star mean?

Other than the homepage, all the pages are called "Welcome to: WheelChair" - alienating your customers!

    "out side" is one word.

    "Republic ofIreland" is three words.

Your Terms and Conditions are incompetent.

"Please agree with terms & conditions." - rephrase.

    "Valid Email" - incomplete instruction.

"(Please Be Patient as Photo can take a few minutes to upload)" - what photo?

You say "Contact us", but who are you?

How are Esme Cluskey, Stephen Cluskey and James Cluskey connected?

TAXI'S in the nav, no apostrophe.

Background in the Search panel would be better if uniform ie. not white behind 'Search'.

I'd put the search panel right in the middle and condense the text that is there to something like: 'find wheelchair accessible transport near you the easy way' with a note about the other forms nearby: 'also car, coach, minibus, and boat hire'.

Why is there 'Pages' on the right Taxi's and Other transport pages?

Spaces in the PDF (or any) filenames are not a good idea.

I'd have the Driver's Guides as regular web pages and not only as PDFs.

Can only register from Homepage. I'd plug more reasons for registering in the process.

You are taking personal info so you must have a Privacy Policy. It would be better if Terms and Conditions and contact info are also included.

Careful with the feedback on drivers as it could become risky wrt moderation and legal issues.

    No 404 page ( http://wheelchairtaxi.ie/mistypedpage ) and sitemap.

No alt tags on images, no headings used, poor semantic markup, not enough attention to keywords/phrases, poor titles, no meta descriptions = not good for SEO.

JavaScript call for contact plugin is a bit of an odd way to do that.

@Victor, Login as one word is fine. Email used to be e-mail but with as usage increases such hyphens get dropped with little or no issue. Web site -> web-site -> website.

Agree on grey text, why, why?

    Victor and Tricky D,

Many thanks for the detailed feedback. That's Exactly What I Need. Can I ask Victor – where do you see Stephen Cluskey, Esme Cluskey and James Cluskey mentioned?
Terms and Conditions are there in the sign up page for both drivers and users. Many of Those Grammatical Errors I'm sad to say I never noticed! Will get them corrected. I will definitely take a lot of this feedback on board although I have to say I like the colours. Thanks again

    Regards,

    Stephen

T+C would be better linked from a footer not buried where it is now and a Privacy Policy is a must, likewise in the footer.

    Site accepts weak passwords

Where is my confirmation e-mail? Oh, there it is "Dear User, Your account had been deactivated."

You need to reconsider the Areas Based and Areas Covered, some of them may not be meaningful, e.g. in Cork, you have "Blackwater Valley" which is 120km long and stretches from Rathmore in Kerry to Youghal on the Waterford Border.

    I got an e-mail.

Somehow, I am now on http://cyberquadsolutions.com/project/wheelchaire/contact_us.php?val=5

Search function doesn't return anything, even when searching for known 'drivers'.

Do the areas that drivers sign up with match the areas in the search function?

When I'm logged in, is there anything extra to see?

    How do I log out?

so was I, don't know how that happened! Refresh, got me back to the regular site.the designer might be making changes at the moment!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 386 ✭✭clusk007

Many of the Changes suggested here have been implemented which I'm very grateful for your help. Can you guys have another quick look at the site if it's not too much trouble and provide any feedback, be it good or bad!

    http://wheelchairtaxi.ie/

The accessibility features including alternative text is being worked on and should be ready by Thursday!

Haven't read through the full thread so someone may have mentioned this already, but on the driver profile pages you have a big list of places that they serve.

It would look better and would be easier to see with a glance if the driver serves your area if you had a map image with a circle drawn to represent the area covered. Something like this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 386 ✭✭clusk007

I see what you mean and thanks for the feedback. I think the way I have it done is the simplest because of the randomness of areas drivers work. I could be wrong however and time will tell! Any other suggestions?

Nice looking site, best of luck with it OP. Pretty niche and should be relatively easy for you to rank well in Search too.

Website looks quite dated already. Glossy icons, rounded bordered text boxes.

but it is easy enough to navigate and everything is nice and big.

Shame it's not responsive and I can't trigger any mobile site on my laptop. Considering the touch screen devices that many people (including wheelchair users) might use, that would be useful I feel.

Ah I'm disappointed to hear that you feel it looks quite dated already - I have been working on this for the past couple of months and thought it looked very well but I do appreciate the feedback and will take the points on board.
