applied for refund on health expenses - checked my paye anytime just there - in my requests there is a p21 and the refund will go to bank account.

anyone know how long it takes for refund to show on bank account after p21 has been completed?

    thanks
    J

It is usually a day or 2 after.

When did you request the health expenses ? that should of takin' 2 days too.

Anywhere between 3 and 10 working days. Certain times of the year when claims are higher it can take up to 3 weeks.

i can see a p21 completed and the refund due - this means it's been worked, but just wondering how long it takes after that to hit the bank account....

I would say what Dave said being between 3 and 10 working days, when I was talking to PAYE this morning they did say it was a busy time of year for rebates.

When did you first request the refund ? how long between you requesting it and the p21 beinjg completed ?

I applied for a refund for dental work on the 9th Jan and nothing so far. It says "modified" in my requests.

Also I claimed "flat rate expenses" on the 17th Jan for the last 4 years of working in a bar, it said I was due €93 per year. They have sent me revised p21s for 3 of the 4 years but haven't seen any of the money yet

On the first page of each of the P21s does it say a refund is due?

On the first page of each of the P21s does it say a refund is due?

Im not at home so i cant check, It does subtract €93 from another figure and then in a panel (think its b3?) on the reverse side of the sheet it has €93 in there as well. I know very little about all this tax stuff, what im entitled to, what all of the different sections mean etc

The 93 euro figure is a tax relief. If you paid tax at the standard rate (20%) you are given 20% of the figure. If you paid at the higher rate (41%) then you get 41% of the figure. These refunds are based on you actually having paid tax in those years.

The bottom of the first page of the P21 shows the result of the review. It will tell you if a refund was due. The rest of the P21 shows how the result was calculated.

If all in order, its three working days for bank refunds.

Cheques take longer than bank refunds. It has to printed and then posted. So you are looking at 5 to 10 working days
