Applegreen are giving away free golf rounds and other stuff if you take a loyalty card. Got me a round in St Margarets, I just browsed Dublin but it looks like the whole country is covered. Don't have to use it or anything, just get a card and fill in the online form, nice. I'm not one for giving free advertising, but this could turn out like that company years ago who went bust giving away free washing machines:)

    Nice one Dubtom,

I got the card this morning as well, signed up with my handy 50 digit code (OK, so it's only 16 digits, but it still took me three attempts), and was offered a Free Reward straight away, including a green fee at one of 29 courses around the country... including places like Dunmurry Springs, New Forest, Rathsallagh, Charleville and Ballykisteen. I picked Dunmurry Springs.

Not bad for a tiny bit of effort, and it's something for nothing... if there is such a thing.

Here's a list of Applegreen petrol stations.

Sounds interesting - do you just swipe the card in at any course then is it?

No,when you register your sent an email as the voucher, it has a use by date, mine is April 18th,and you have to tell the course when you book that it is the reward from applegreen.

Ahh I see you just bring the vocher to any course then and hand it into the pro shop..pretty cool. Same as the Credit Union train tickets so

Dispite the fact that you get a free round of golf straight up, which is awesome..! The free rounds are only 2000pts each. I make that maybe a little more than a months petrol and a few bits and bobs in a household with 2 cars and a bit of a commute. Good deal all round..

Anyone know if Dingle would be worth the spin down to at this time of year .?

Depends on how far you're heading! As a links you should be safe but it depends on the weather - the wind particularly, as it's a very open course.

Only played it once, loved it, brilliant course. Not a bad reward for simply registering the card.

No, my voucher is good up to 18 april. In saying that, I haven't tried to book yet so don't know what restriction the course will give, If I'm honest I expect some restrictions, no morning play or something similar, the fact they don't allow more than one freebie per booking is a disappointment, although I suppose expected.

Ah crap, they'll charge all others in the booking full whack so, even if it's a two ball and you split the fees it would probably not be worth the effort (in the courses I'm looking at). Fek!

Just a bit of info on this promotion:

The T&C's are unique to each course. You'll find many more flexible than others on timesheet restrictions etc. As far as I know courses will only allow one Applegreen FOC round per timeslot. Upselling to a 2, 3 or 4ball is how each course sees their return from the reward scheme (apart from the obvious exposure and publicity).

I would also appreciate if someone could recommend one of the courses in either Dublin, Wicklow, Meath or Kildare.

    Thanks

These are the ones id recommend.

    Moyvalley (between Kinnegad and Enfield)
    New Forest (near Kilbeggan)
    Dunmurry (Kildare Town)
    Rathsallagh (not far from Kilcullen)

All cracking courses. I think New Forest may be the most challenging (for me anyway). MoyValley has a few top quality holes and is immaculately maintained. Dunmurry is a lovely course with some cracking holes but its a very tough walking course. Rathsallagh is less testing, with a great layout and a very public friendly club in general.
