Hi, Went to the dentist today and was told that I had a cavity in my wisdom tooth and would need to get a white filling in it. Hi,

The white filling is a bit more expensive than the amalgam one, however the way the dentist said it it sound like a white filling was necessary in this case.

Is there a reason why a white filling would be necessary or preferable in this case?
