On my first pay cheques this year I have being paying a lot more paye than say a few weeks/months ago. Just wondering why this is?

Second question is about taxback.com I keep hearing these ads on the radio and wondering if there is a catch? Eg will I lose out on tax credits that I could use at the dentist etc or do the company claiming the refund take a big percentage of my refund?

    Thanks

There are literally dozens of reasons as to why the first scenario may be occurring. Your post is too vague really. What are your circumstances regarding the job? Did you commence part way through last year.

Taxback.com calculate your rebate due, if any, and pay you this, less their cut of 15%, before they claim it from Revenue.

I think your confusing PRSI with PAYE as regards tax credits for the dentist.

It all depends on your circumstances. Did you start the job last year? Have you had an increse in Pay? Are you married with Joint Assessment applying and your credits have been moved about? Have you check your tax credit certificate in your online account?

The only time you need the services of taxback.com or any other accounting service is when you have unusual additional non PAYE income to declare or assistance with foreign taxation. They charge for this service.

Everyone needs to understand how they are taxed. If it is through the PAYE system then you really should educate yourself. The below links will assist you. Use your Tax Credit Cert with your payslips to understand your own situation.
