    Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone could help me out as to where to find one of these pieces please?

I know B and Q nd hardware stores do these:

But I need the long side open. It is being used as a glide rail for a camera so that these sit on to 2 long pvc pipes and slide up and down, and can be taken off at any time as these pipes will be secured to a plank of wood. Can anyone help please?

I've posted this in the DIY forum here but said I'd throw it up here in case someone here might have done something like this before! I jsut cant find the pieces i need!

    Cheers,

    Paddy

as in you need the side to be open topped as opposed to being open at both ends? just to be clear.

get a saw.. cut it off. there is no piping reason to make a 2" pvc channel-Tee off the top of my head.. so you wont be able to buy one.

any saw at all really. pvc aint that hard

I just wasnt sure if there was pre-cut items like these or not. This is the video I'm looking at to make one from...

Just trying to make it as easy as possible!

I wouldnt be in a hurry to say it would be impossible to find what you want, but cutting a standard tee would be an awful lot cheaper and faster than sourcing something odd

Just take a trip to B&Q to see what they have to offer. If you can't find what you need then Woodies sell them as well.

I've just about completed a build of a 4ft rolling slider. My goal was to have the smoothest and most fluid action I could manage. So I experimented with loads of different materials and ideas. In the end I went for some stainless steel rails and some nice high spec skateboard bearings. It's really smooth and looks well. I mount the camera on a very good but cheap fluid drag head with both ends of the rails mountable on tripods. I plan to put some adjustable legs on for low level shooting and I need to remodel the platform to make it look a little bit more presentable when using in front of punters.
