Take the Stand are a dynamic 4 piece alternative rock band from Galway, Ireland.
The band formed in early August 2011 when Stephen Curran and Colin Clancy met through a common musical interest, and decided to start a band together.
They found drummer Joe Betts through auditioning and were delighted with the way all 3 musician’s artistic visions met.
Aaron McCormick and Stephen had previously been members of Donegal based Six:30, and feeling that the sound needed something more, the lads asked Aaron to come and Jam with them.

After several weeks of jamming together the music began to flow, and by mid September the first 4 songs were written.
The band recorded their first song “Sirens” and entered the Townhouse Bar Battle of the Bands. Over the ensuing 3 months of the competition they played to ever growing crowds, eventually finishing in second place, and having written 10 songs.

2011 closed for Take the Stand with a series of gigs in Galway and Donegal.
These gigs proved a great success, and firmly established the band on the original music scene.

2012 has seen the band take to the recording studio for 2 weeks to record their debut EP, which will be released in March with a tour to support it.
