Kilkenny GC, Gowran GC, Mount Juliet are all within 20 mins from Kilkenny. Mount Juliet is expensive but a very good course.

Doubt you'll get out in Kilkenny on a Sat morning tbh. Gowran is worth playing, you should get out and its in great nic at the moment.. (I'm a member so might be a bit biased!)

Mount Juilet is great and if you haven't played it, you should consider treating yourself. I think Gowran is a hidden gem. Haven't palyed there for years but would be my choice.

Personally, I would rank Kilkenny as number 3 on my list by a long way.

I've heard good things about Castlecomer but haven't played it.

I would definitely recommend Castlecomer. Great course, with some truly excellent holes

Actually all of the above courses are well worth a go and memorable in their own right.

I would go with Castlecomer, most of the holes have something going on that will make them memorable and challenging, not surprising as Pat Ruddy had a hand in the design. Fee's are quite cheap too so based on that I would make it the best value in the area.

If you do decide to go there watch out for the 6th. It's epic ...

Have only played it once this winter but heard loads of people saying the greens at Gowran are great lately.
