    Can anyone tell me if the above is actually the case? And what is the normal rate the solicitor will take if a claim was to be agreed, just want to make sure im not getting ripped off when it comes to solicitors percentage thx in advance

    Contrary to widespread belief Solicitors are not permitted to charge a % of the value of a clients settlement - Law Society don't allow this AFAIK.

    No Win No Fee means your Solicitor won't charge you if unsuccessful with your claim but ( and this is a very big but ) you may find yourself saddled with the legal costs of the other side in an unsucessful action.

    A Solicitor should explain this thoroughly to you.

    It only happens in certain types of cases. usually personal injuries and Judicial Review and occassionally employment cases. It is best to use a solicitor recommended by someone who has done this before.
