JobBridge Internship question

I know that 18-24 year olds are only entitled to the lower rate of social welfare (144eu per week) plus the 50euro from the JobBridge internship.

What if you are an 18-24 year old who has always received the higher rate of social welfare? Is this cut to the lower rate while you do the internship and if so, does it go back to the higher rate upon completion?

    Thanks

    Hi Blackcoat,

I started a Job Bridge Internship in October from the higher rate of JSB. I had the same fear as you but got got 188 + the extra 50 (didn't get the extra 50 for a few weeks but eventually got it backdated). I'm not sure if the fact I was almost 25 had anything to do with it but I doubt it.

Thanks for the reply. I am only 23 so I'll have to wait and see. Thanks again.
