Windows Mail error

    I am using Windows mail on vista up until recently all was ok, then when i go to send email i get the message

    The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

    I have sent several messages to my gmail account and they still send as i received them in my gmail acc, just getting this annoying message all the time. I thought it might be an issue with my Smtp outgoing mail, but I checked this;

    Pop3 is mail1.eircom.net
    Smtp is mail1.eircom.net

    I have very little mail and i logged onto eircoms webmail and i have only 12 mails in there. I also removed AVG to see if this was the issue.

    Any ideas???

    Who is your internet provider? If it isn't Eircom anymore (I'm guessing) you'll need to use your new ISPs SMTP server. Let us know who your current ISP is and we can help further
