Offered new job with car

My husband has been offered a new job at the same salary as with his current job but with a car. I used a website tax calculator giving a reasonable OMV and business mileage and his net salary has gob down by 200 euro per month.
Now he doesn't nee a new car for his work and if my figures are correct he has no interest in changing jobs to have a reduction in salary because the net income is what matters to him and us
    Am I doing something wrong?
He estimates business mileage to be around 10k a year.how would he get refunded petrol. If he used the civil service rate, would that be accurate ,conversative or generous?
Thanks for the help,it's a big decision for us

Generally, but not always, with a company car, the employer pays for all the running costs of the car.

So while your husband will have a reduction in his net pay, he won't have to replace his existing car (assuming he has one already, he can sell it), he won't have to pay petrol, insurance, road tax nor repairs on a car.

If he is running a car at present, then this is likely to be a significant saving if you get rid of the existing car.

This should be balanced against the €200 reduction in net pay.

Thanks a mill.the reduction in net pay is offset by petrol expenses etc that is correct and he will be in the same position approximately financially as he is in now.His current job is quite secure and it is thus not worth the risk of starting a new job without increased benefits.
    Thanks to everyone
