Pay as you go meter ran out and boiler won't reset

Hello! We recently rented a house with a pay as you go meter. To change it to bill pay would have cost more than one month's gas, so we decided to leave it. But now it ran out, I topped it up and it is still not working. I seem to remember vaguely something the installer said about resetting the boiler after it ran out, or turning some valve or something, but in the chaos of everything when we moved in I seem to have forgotten it. Trying desperately to reach landlord or someone I don't have to pay, but no luck and its friggen cold, as they would say in Jersey.
    Help?!
    thanks

I would guess your gas line to boiler needs to be purged. Call your local reg installer.

    What system have you got?
I have a Baxi Barcelona with a pre pay set up.
If the gas switches off you reset to boiler. There is a power knob on the unit itself with 0 for off , on & R . Briefly switch thir to R. It will spring back to on itself & the boiler should start.

Hi Koolkid, I asked this question in another thread but haven't got a reply yet. Is there a monthly/2 monthly service chargeas there is when bill paying?
    Thanks
    B

There is a daily charge on top of what gas is used. In other words if your away and use no gas you credit will run down day by day.

Really?... How much per day.... I was thinking of getting one in.. Thought I might avoid the service charge... Also thinking about avoiding it during warmer months.

These maters are nice and compact, and are battery powered with a sealed long life span battery (approx 10 years).

    Very easy to use aswell.

I think its 20-30c a day. I never had the inclination to calculate it.
