I'm at work when the motor tax office in Ennis is open. Is it possible to apply online or have someone go in with my DTT cert and eye test and apply on my behalf? Is there a form I can fill in and post? I need to get driving as soon as possible.

Yeah just go to motor tax office website and request a form to be sent to your mail. Then you can apply through post.

Aren't the forms also generally available at Garda stations? Not sure of the OP's exact location, but there might be an open station nearby. Libraries also have them.

I'm applying for a full licence later this week, so I have a similar form to hand. It says that you might be asked for more ID if you apply in person, but it doesn't say that you can't apply through the post. Having said that, the photos that you hand over need to be signed and somehow verified that the picture matches you, so I'm not sure how that could be done if you weren't there.

If still in doubt, contact the local office. Details are here.

Got the form there over lunch in Shannon (where they process the log books) as the Garda station had run out.

Now what to do with all the forms I have here

I will be applying for my second Learner Permit soon, does anyone know if there is a separate form for the second learner permit or is there just one LP form that everyone uses whether it be first second or subsequent ones?
