Just saw this and to say it makes me sick is an understatement. Why do lads feel the need to do this to a golf club is beyond me. Remember it happened to beach park a few years ago and the greens keepers from the surrounding clubs gave a dig out helping fix the damage

golfdublin.com: Unfortunately Corballis Golf Links is closed today due to vandilism on the greens last night. We will keep you posted as to what the plans are for the rest of the week. If you are looking for a game this afternoon you can play at Elmgreen Golf Club or use the driving range which is open until 9pm. www.elmgreengolfcentre.com

    Disgraceful carry on.

Just another example of the mindless anti-social behaviour that's rampant in this country (with no end to it in sight). I wonder what the "punishment" would be to these vandals if they were caught, a stern warning?

    Was out there today, sick.

A vendetta or drunk hooded scumbags i guess, 8 greens.

    :(

Was meant to be playing there on Friday for the first time in a couple of years, love the place and the greens were always so very well maintained.

This is what I was wondering. Surely something like this would take a bit of planning? It seems a bit too pre-meditated to be just a scumbag acting on a spur of the moment decision.

Greenkeepers in general are so underappreciated, the lads are class, bet they get it back in a week or two ?

I guess you would use a temp green and cut damaged bit out in a square or circle and replace part, like a new hole in a way, then work edges into old green , just a guess, it would grow in in a few weeks.

I here it was 40 holes per green by SW , but these things grow by the grapevine.

Just spoke to someone there in the clubhouse... there was damage done to 7 greens but they will all be open for play tomorrow

As Fixdepitchmark says: "Greenkeepers in general are so underappreciated" - if they can get it back to playability by tomorrow - I'd have used the word miraculous.

hate hearing someting like this - especially in the times we are in. Pretty bad form.

Well done to the greenkeepes if its open tomorrow.

Mindless idiots. I'm due to play there on friday morning so glad to hear play won't be affected too much. Fair play to the greenkeepers for the effort in getting it back open for play tomorrow.

The strange one is it is a public facility , in these times it is for the people who need it most. Same with playgrounds, one week up and they are damaged by the hooded ones, they are not like robin hood these hooded hooligans.

Time for ASBOs. But lots of loo laas at all ages.

A few cameras on course or road if it happens again.
