VW Polo problems

Have a VW Polo 03 1.2l, problem at the moment is when turned on engine management light comes on constant, when the accelerator is pressed the light starts flashing and the car can't go above 2000 revs (light then comes back on constant). Car was serviced and new plugs fitted recently.

Anybody have any ideas what might be wrong?

Is the car misfiring? Coilpacks are a comon failure on these.

It could be one of several issues though, you need to have it properly diagnosed.

Not that I can tell, but when I changed one of the spark plugs recently, it looked wet / damp when I took it out.

    Then likely a failed coilpack.

Would a failed coilpack, stop the revs from going past a certain point.
