    hi all

I am trying to sort out our honeymoon for next november at the moment, we want 4/5 nights in Las Vegas, a week long cruise in the caribbean and would love to get a few nights in Cuba. The problem apparently is getting to Cuba from the US, we had hoped to start in Vegas and it didn't really matter which of either the cruise or cuba came next. The cruise we favour leaves from San Juan. I got in contact with one travel agent and they told us that there is some difficulty with going to Cuba but did not really specify.
Has anyone here had any expierence going there or have they been refused?
    Any help would be great.

AFAIK there are no American airlines that fly to Cuba and that is actualy illegal for Americans to enter Cuba given the history between the two countries. Makes things more difficult for you but not impossible.

Copa airlines i believes flies to cuba and around a lot of central america. I assume you mean San Juan, Puerto Rico? So you could fly from san juan to panama (which i think is a hub for copa) and then onto cuba and then do the reverse for the return. Aeromexico do to so going through mexico is another option.

Personally i think it would be easier to make cuba your first stop as you could fly direct there with virgin atlantic or via canada and then work your way up, leaving vegas for last.

Unfortunalty most of the travel search sites (kayak, expedia etc) are American and are therefore restricted from showing flights to cuba even if not depaeting from the USA. This is one case where you need a good travel agent i think.

I was in Cuba last year. I honestly think you should do everything in your powers to get there. Incredible place!

I went Dublin - Amsterdam - Havana, got an incredible deal with Tropical Sky. It is true re the travel restrictions via the US and Cuba. Any Americans I came across flew via Canada or Mexico. Maybe you could get a connecting flight to Cancun, and then on to Havana?

I did 4 nights in Havana, and 7 in Varadero (beach resort). While Varadero is beautiful, it could be anywhere in the world. It isn't the real Cuba. Havana is the most unique experience me and my mate ever had. If you want a honeymoon to remember, go there! :)

We done the exact same thing as Fizman, Valadero is nice but there's not a whole lot to do out there besides swim and get fat on the all inclusive, it has some great snorkeling spots. If you like cigars, rum and classic cars you'll love Cuba. It's a time warp.

If your anyway into photography it's a playground. I'd nearly go again for the pictures I missed.
