Thread with a bit of a difference.

Of all the potential matches that could be made, which three, with one as a sub would you pick, and what fighter wins, with maybe a couple of reasons why you pick that fighter to win.

No real rules, think outside the box. Catch weights if you want.

Reason: Well, for example, maybe someone would have dreamnt of matching Calzaghe vs. Michael Spinks, but because Joe was at best a SMW, and Spinks, a LH, they may not list it; but, why not have it at a catch-weight of say 171/172 lbs. Just to use that as an example. Also, it makes for a bit of fairness.

Someone may pit two men from the same division against each other, but think to themselves that one man was probably not as good at that particular weight, so, therefore have it at a catch-weight. Example could be Hagler-Toney at 164 lbs. Toney being probably more comfy and natural as a 168 lber, Hagler more comfy at 160 lbs, so to even it up, have it at 164 lbs.

Have it at 12 rds or 15 rds, your choice. All about a bit of fun and thinking of all the possible options.
    I'll start:

    1. Lewis-Bowe at heavyweight over 12 rds: Wow. A fight that so many wanted to see. Two big and very talented men. Made all the more tasty due to the Seoul Olympic Final. I think this is a dream dream match. Best for best; Bowe 1992 vs. Lewis 1992. I will go with Bowe because I think he had a better jab, faster and more accurate, he was very tough, very good beard, and IMO a far better inside fighter.

    2. McGuigan-Nelson @ 126 lbs over 12 rds: This was another match that the world wanted to see. Both at their peak in and around 1985/1986. I would have to lean with Nelson here. Just that bit more versatile, real tough, heavy hands, solid beard and fit as a fiddle. But, the 1985 Barry makes it very tough for him. Nelson to prevail by UD.

    3. Hagler-Toney @ 164 lbs over 12 rds: Wow, a fight I certainly would pay bucks to see. I think their styles make for a great scrap. Both as tough as nails. Intriguing clash of styles. Toney loves an attacking fighter. Hagler mostly is this, but also can box well from range and on retreat. Could be a phone booth war, with Toney's slick defense, dips, ducks and counter punching maybe winning out for a close decision win.

Sub Match: Hearns-McCallum @ 154 lbs over 12 rds: Again, what a match. Hearns the boxer/puncher vs. McCallum the boxer/puncher/slugger. I think Hearns causes real issues early on. Mike is always pressing but is finding it difficult to lay enough leather on Hearns early. But, as it progresses I think Mike's fitness and strength and body attack play their part. Hearns tires, Mike lands, lands again and Hearns is saved by the ref in the 11th.

    Thoughts, picks, views?

...though mayweather v rjj at 154 could be interesting.

generally not into the whole fantasy thing myself. realtime, i'm looking forward to seeing ward v bute. and perez against quality opposition.
