In October of last year I was made redundant due to the incompetence of the companys CEO, CFO and other trusted board members. I signed on the welfare straight away until I was able to find work. Unfortunately, after weeks of searching in Ireland and having no luck with interviews I was forced to open my search options. Having almost instant success in my applications outside of Ireland.

So in just over 12 hours I'll be on a plane on my way out of here to set up life in Malta.

I'm delighted to be honest but also a little bummed out. Can't wait to make the next step in my career but am pretty mad that I have to leave friends and family because my former employer was a total moron.


Anyways, I guess I'm posting this to say so long and here's to hoping I can return to a better country than I left.

Lighten up, I was clearly taking the pïss. Which I thought you were in your initial comment but I'm starting to second guess that one now.

Thanks for the lovely words. It's about as nice as me saying "I hope you stay on the dole". But I won't, cause I'm not a begrudging, belligerent person.

Malta is a fabulous place and not too far, ryanair fly there, warmer weather so cheap for family and friends to fly over. best of luck with the move and enjoy.

you get any money out of the ****ers? I left for NZ just before all that sh1t in Aug/Sept, so glad I got out of that company!

what I'd love to know is how they're still paying the people there considering they haven't been trading in 7 months...

Sheesh, you can't win here sometimes with some people.

If you're unemployed here you're probably a dole scrounger and should be sterilised etc.

If you actively look for work but are forced to reluctantly leave as there aren't the opportunities here, then you're, well I don't know really, a deserter or something, and you're told good riddance.
