I was just writing something and MS word marked it as incorrect. I then searched the internet and still find the word. Maybe, I've got the spelling wrong but I don't think so.

I thought that a quarsom (qarsome) was a group of four prople. However, I cannot find it in an on-line dictionary.

From my school days (many, many years ago, I think i was taught that "a quarsom of directors of a company/club was require before a meeting was legal". i.e. four directors were needed.

Anyone else know of this word?

Have you combined Quartet and Foursome by any chance?

It looks like it may be that combination but as far as I can remember it was used as a "business" or legal word.

That's just the minimum number of people needed to take part in a vote for it to be valid and representative of the majority, isn't it?

EDIT: Fits OPs description other than the four people thing. A-whoops.
