    Hi ,
I am looking for suggestions on holidays in ireland for summer 2012 .I figure with the economy in such a state we could all do with spending our money here in my opinion so im opting to stay in ireland .

I have a wife and 3 young kids ,aged 1 year ,11 ,7 so I am looking for somewhere good fun for the kids and also nightly entertainment for the adults .So far we have trabolgan co cork ,tramore co waterford which is only few miles from where we live so prob not an option .So please if anyone has experienced any where close to what were looking for in Ireland let me know .

P.S I do know that alot of places are weather dependable which isnt great for Ireland .

We stayed in http://www.qualityhotelclon.com/ the quality hotel Clonakilty for a week's stay in July and loved it. We had a room only rate and had bar food each evening and it was great value, they are really children orientated. Music in bar at night is for children, kiddies club and on site playground and bouncy castle was a big hit. Were thinking about going again this year but going to try and book the holiday houses they have on site this time.
We had great weather so we spent alot of time down on Inchadonny beach.
While we love going to Trabolgan aswell I would'nt go in July & August it's just so busy. We usually go in May for a week or Oct.

    hi guys,
we are in a similar situation, have friends coming over from switzerland, we are going to be a big gang of about ten, looking for a place of course with everything (beach, pubs, restaurants and outdoor activities, preferably water sports) on the coast of cork.
unfortunately the only date that suits everybody is the first week in august. looking for a holiday home/ self catering apartement.
    thanks for any tips!!!

    Well, enjoy that.

Personally, I'll be doing my bit for the beleaguered Greek economy.

Dingle peninsula, great beaches - you can spend an hour or two in the climbing wall in Dingle.

The Enchanted south tour looks very interesting. You visit Dublin, Kilkenny, Cork, Kerry, Clare, Limerick, Connemara and other places all in a 9 day tour. I think this is the website here Enchanted Ireland Tours.

A nice cheap hotel, however when I stayed there, the food quality was poor. Hopefully it has improved.

banna beach co.Kerry , had some great holidays there as a kid , there was a pub , kids area , gym , pool etc in the one complex, cant remember the name of the place but wasnt too far from the beach , which was also one of the nicest/cleanest beaches I was ever on , Im guessing its still like that , havent been there since 96

Hey just to note that this is student accommodation during the year which is fine but trust me its the worst one in the city but try the others such as Gort na Coiribe, Dun na Coiribe and Cuirt na Coiribe as these are much better quality and are closer to Eyre square, 10-15 min walk :)
