Job by garage caused NCT retest fail

    Hi

A friend's car recently failed the NCT due to corroded brake lines. These were replaced by a garage (part of a national chain garage) for a few hundred €!!

However when retested it failed as the joints between the new and old brake lines were leaking brake fluid. So obviously needs to be rectified and retested with a fee of €28.

While I'm sure the brake fluid leak will be rectified by the garage (FOC hopefully) I'm wondering if he's entitled to a reimbursement of the further retest fee, obviously this is due to poor workmanship of the job.

    Can anyone advice?

Yes I would push the garage to pay and organise the retest.as for leaking joints on brake lines.that was somebody not paying attention and not doing the proper checks after finishen the jobs.but then again everybody is human

Personally, I'd just get the car retested and not bother with them again for the sake of €30. Similar thing happened to me a few years back and thats what I did.
