Warming Up At Home

Hi. I'm looking for some tips on how to warm up at home. I don't have an exercise bike or anything like that. I guess I could start with a 5 minute walk, but if I did that I'd have to do my stretches on a very busy road. Ideally, I'd warm up and stretch at home, then begin my run. Does anyone work a similar routine?

I do this a lot but it's a bit random. Unless its early on a cold morning, it doesn't take long.

I often jog up and down the stairs slowly a few times, getting quicker toward the end.
But sometimes, I end up running around the house finding missing childrens shoes and feeding the dog before I can escape and I have convinced myself that its a great warm up.

I bounce on the spot for a minute in bare feet before putting on my shoes. Once out on the road, I take it easy for the first mile or two.

That's been working for me for years.

I'm a bit short on children and dogs at the moment, so running on the stairs and bouncing on the spot will do nicely! Thanks!

Some jogging on the spot, some jumping jacks and some dynamic stretches-front and side leg swings, high knees and butt kicks

The park I run in is about a 5 to 7 minute walk from my apartment. I usually just walk there quite briskly (not a problem in the cold weather!) and then just start running when I get there.
