    Help urgently needed here.

My 2yr old daughter has decided in the last few weeks she doesnt want to sleep during the night and doesnt want to go for her afternoon naps. Im asking on behalf of her mother as she isnt registered on here.

Basically Caoimhe has no problem going to bed, makes her own way up the stairs when its time and goes into her room. A few weeks back she decided that she didnt want her mother to leave the room after she layed down, kept saying she was afraid and asking her not to leave, she screamed so much one night that she threw up on herself. After that night her mother started staying in the room, sitting on the floor with her head down with no conversation or anything. That worked and Caoimhe would be asleep within 10 minutes.

Her mother then moved out to the landing outside the bedroom door and that was fine for a few days. But then Caoimhe started looking out the door for her, making excuses to get her back in the room. Its now taking an hour or more to get her to sleep at night and in the afternoon. Its not a case of her not being tired as she is absolutely wrecked. She was doing her usual thing yesterday afternoon of not wanting to sleep so her mother put her into the car, she was asleep within minutes.

She is also waking 2-3 times EVERY night. She has a nightlight in the room so its nothing to do with the dark.

    Anybody help?
